SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Millions of dollars were donated to Oakland schools this week, and Fred Blackwell, CEO of the San Francisco Foundation, stopped by the KRON studio Saturday morning to explain why this generous philanthropist chose to remain anonymous.
The donor wanted their philanthropic contribution–a $34 million grant to the Oakland community which included $6 million designated for Oakland schools–to remain focused on the impact on schools and community and not who donated the millions, Blackwell said.
Watch this interview for more details on how the funds will be distributed and used to effect change in the Oakland area.
