Fremont police investigating officer-involved shooting

FREMONT (KRON) — Fremont police are investigating an officer-involved shooting, which happened in the area of the 4700 block of Baffin Avenue.

Fremont police spokesman Geneva Bosques has confirmed the shooting took place. They also confirmed the shooting on Twitter Monday night.

It happened just after 6:50 p.m. after police received a call about a family disturbance. A woman told police she and another woman were threatened and chased after by a male roommate armed with a knife, police said.

The women ran away from the home, and the man was on the porch holding the knife, police said. When officers arrived at the scene, they said they shot the man while he was confronting them with the knife.

The man was taken to the hospital. His condition is not known.
