SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — There’s been some unusual weather in recent weeks in California, including warm, muggy weather in the Bay Area in July.
Mounting evidence suggests that an El Nino forming in the Pacific is to blame for the strange weather. The current El Nino formed last winter and has been getting stronger ever since.
So far in 2015, there have been four hurricanes compared to just two by this time last year.
Southern California is getting hit the hardest, weather experts said.
KRON 4’s Charles Clifford talked with the National Weather Service Monday about what impact El Nino is having on California weather.
