PACIFICA (KRON) — The future of a popular Half Moon Bay beach hangs in the balance Monday night.
How and when the public can access Martins Beach is awaiting an appeal in a long court battle with a property owner. On Monday night, many people are meeting in Pacifica to find out how they can help their cause.
KRON 4’s Emily Turner was in the meeting and reports on what was decided.
The battle over public access to Martins Beach has been in and out of court in recent years. And the public meeting about the Half Moon Bay beach helped gain fuel for yet another fight.
The Surfrider Foundation helped put the meeting together to gain information about how the public uses Martins Beach. They hope it will help negotiate an agreement on usage and prove once and for all that the public has right to enjoy it.
