San Francisco police arrest downtown bank robbery suspect

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco police arrested a bank robbery suspect downtown Tuesday, police said.

Police said they received a report of a bank robbery in progress around 10:30 a.m at the Federal Reserve Bank on the 200 block of Market Street.. A bank employee told police the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Mark Wright, said he was armed and demanded money.

The bank teller gave the suspect the cash, and he ran away before officers arrived, police said. Police said they caught up with Wright and arrested him near the bank.

Wright has been charged with felony robbery, and he was booked into jail on several outstanding warrants, police said.
