San Jose police plan to step up patrols in high-crime areas

SAN JOSE (KRON) — San Jose police plan to flood high-crime areas with additional officers in the wake of increased crime during this time of year, according to a police spokesman.

San Jose police chief officers formed this strategy following an exceptionally violent month.

Multiple shootings, as well as a man arrested after stabbing and allegedly trying to rape three women, prompted officers to take additional steps in enforcement, police said.

This new crime hot spot presence will likely draw overtime shifts and redeploying the special operations division, according to police.
