Knoxville Wildlife Area scheduled to reopen

Lake County (KRON)  — On Sunday morning The Knoxville Wildlife Area, comprising parts of Napa, Lake Colusa and Yolo counties, will reopen according to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The area is safe for public access and will reopen at 5 a.m, officials said.

The massive Rocky Fire in Lake County no longer poses a threat to the area, according to officials.

Due to The Rocky Fire the wildlife area closed Monday.

Officials want to remind people that campfires are not allowed at any time in the wildlife area, according to The California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
