Woman rescued after paragliding accident

NAPA COUNTY (KRON) — On August 8, 2015 at approximately 1406 hours, CHP Helicopter monitored a call of a para-glider that had crashed in the vicinity of Lake Hennessey in the unincorporated portion of Napa County.

Due to the rural nature of the location and the lack of vehicular access the helicopter arrived overhead the location approximately 10 minutes after the time of the call and landed in a field east of the injured party.

The location of the incidentwas not accessible by road and no fire or emergency medical personnel could get to the scene.

The helicopter 32’s personnel includes a Flight Officer/Paramedic who made access to the patient and provided advanced life support care and treatment for the injured party.

The patient was then secured into the aircraft and transported to Queen of the Valley Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Due to the remote location, no other personnel were ever able to access the location that the victim was found.
