SAN JOSE (KRON) — San Jose police Thursday morning are investigating a shooting that killed a man in San Jose.
Police responded at 12:55 a.m. to a building in the 1800 block of Lundy Avenue in North San Jose near the post off and Costco shopping center on a report of a person shot. When medics located the man they found he was suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.
The man was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
The San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is investigating the homicide.
Police do not know the circumstances or the motive surrounding the shooting, police said.
The identity of the victim will not be released until the coroner’s office confirms the man’s identity.
This was the 18th homicide in San Jose so far this year, compared with 24 on this day last year. And it’s the 11th homicide in six weeks in the city.
