FAIRFIELD (KRON) — Fairfield police have arrested a serial arson suspect who is responsible for five separate fires Wednesday, according to police.

Police have identified the suspect as 47-year-old David Loflin.

Police said the fires happened in the areas of Oliver Road, Beck Avenue, and Woolner Avenue between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Three of them were set in dumpsters, while two were brush fires, police said.

Police said an alert citizen saw a suspicious person watching the fifth fire set on the Linear Trail near Beck Avenue. The witness called police, and they arrested Loflin in connection with the fires, police said.

He was booked into Solano County Jail on arson charges.

At the time of his arrest, police said Loflin had a lighter and a box of matches in his pockets.

Loflin was also arrested on Aug 5 for arson.
