Vallejo school board member concerned about safety of city schools

VALLEJO (KRON) — A Vallejo School Board member is sounding the alarm about safety concerns with the city’s schools.

This comes as students prepare to head back to class next week. It has been three months since Max Rusk, a student at Jesse Bethel High School, was murdered near campus.

Since then, KRON 4 has talked to several parents who said their kids do not feel safe. On Thursday night, some Vallejo School Board members and the superintendent are meeting with parents to discuss what can be done.

Safety was on everybody’s mind at the meeting.

School Board member Bucky Worel said the private security guards on campus aren’t enough. He favors police officers.
