SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The KRON morning news was live Monday morning as the Bay Area was jolted awake by a magnitude 4.0 earthquake that struck in the East Bay. The United States Geological Survey downgraded the intensity of the temblor from a magnitude 4.2.
The USGS said the quake occurred at 6:49 a.m. Watch the report (above) to see how it shook the KRON studio. (Click here for more information about this quake.)
As well, people have been sharing their earthquake stories.
Michele Green sent in a photo showing damage at her home. She wrote, “My beloved antique mirror and the first purchased when I was 21 years old. I have owned it 30 years and now it is gone! It survived the 1989 earthquake in San Francisco with me. It is very sad.”
