Child approached by male in car, police seek suspect in South San Francisco

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Police are seeking a male who apparently tried to entice a 12-year-old girl into his car in South San Francisco Monday afternoon, according to police.

At about 3:30 p.m. Monday, the unknown male in a vehicle approached the child at the corner of Grand and Orange avenues in a neighborhood sitting between Spruce Elementary and Parkway Heights Middle schools, according to police.

The male shouted at the girl several times to get her attention in an attempt to entice her into his vehicle, police said. As the child attempted to quickly walk away, the unknown male continued following her in his vehicle for a few blocks until fleeing the area in an unknown direction, according to police.

The approximately 25-year-old male was described as having a thin build and wearing a black, short-sleeved T-shirt, and a gold chain necklace, according to police.

The suspect vehicle was described as a black, mid-1990’s, compact sedan, possibly a Honda, with an unusually loud engine or modified exhaust, said police.
