GILROY (BCN) — Police are looking for suspects in connection with a drive-by shooting that injured a 24-year-old Gilroy man early Sunday morning.
At 2:17 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 7500 block of Alexander Street, according to police.
After a preliminary investigation, officers learned the victim and a group of friends and acquaintances were standing in front of the victim’s house, when a dark-colored, possibly black, Honda or similar type vehicle pulled up, police said.
The vehicle had about three to four people inside and passed slowly in front of the home. One of the vehicle’s occupants opened fire on the group with a small-caliber firearm, according to police. One of the projectiles struck the victim in the arm, resulting in serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
A vehicle and another residence were also struck, police said.
The victim and the witnesses provided police with little information about the suspects or the suspect vehicle.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
