COMPTON (KRON) — A small earthquake rattled the Los Angeles area Monday morning.
The 2.9 magnitude quake centered one mile southwest of Compton, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It struck at 9:05 a.m. PDT at a depth of about 7.5 miles. It was initially measured as a 3.2 magnitude quake but the USGS later downgraded it.
Many people reporting feeling a single jolt when the event occurred.
There have been no reports of damage or injuries.
