Man arrested on BART in Oakland for public drunkenness, parole violation, warrants

OAKLAND (KRON) — Police arrested a man on a BART train at the 19th Street station in Oakland for public drunkenness, a parole violation and warrants Sunday afternoon, police said.

The incident began at about 4:10 p.m. after polcie got a call from passengers who said a man was acting erratically and might have a knife, BART police Lt. Randy Gregson said.

Officers found he did not have a knife when they arrested him, according to Gregson.

The BART train was delayed for about three minutes as police located the man, Gregson said.
