East Bay man dies after crashing into parked big-rig

OAKLAND (KRON) —  Late Monday night Oakland police responded to a man who was killed after crashing his car into a parked big-rig.

The victim has been identified as a 34-year-old resident of Oakland.

The crash was reported at 11:05 p.m. in the 2000 block of East 12th Street near International blvd., according to police.

The 34-year-old, whose name has not yet been released, struck a big-rig parked on the side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police are investigating the incident and at this time it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.

No other injuries were reported.
