WALNUT CREEK (KRON) — Police in Walnut Creek have arrested a recently-retired high school teacher for possession of child pornography.
After officials executed a search warrant for 66-year-old Marshall Pfeiffer’s home, they found files of child pornography stored on his computer. The man was arrested and booked at a Martinez Detention Facility.
Pfeiffer recently retired from his job as a teacher at a Lafayette high school.
School administrators have been informed of the arrest, but no evidence has been found that he was involved in illegal activity as a teacher.
The Acalanes Union High School District has issued a statement on Pfeiffer’s arrest:
We were informed by law enforcement of this morning’s arrest of and the charge against Marshall Pfeiffer for the possession of child pornography (California Penal Code 311.11(a)).
Mr. Pfeiffer worked for the District as a teacher for 25 years and is currently not employed by the District following his June retirement.
At this point in the investigation, we have no information to suggest any student victims at our schools or illegal activity within our District network, but will continue to fully support law enforcement in their investigation.
We encourage any community members with pertinent information to contact the District Office or their local police department.
The District has no further comment at this time and directs further inquiry to the Walnut Creek Police Department.
