SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — FBI and San Francisco police department Internet Crimes Against Children Unit Arrested two Suspects wanted internationally and across state lines
As the result of a joint investigation conducted by the FBI and the San Francisco Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit, a search warrant was executed in the City and County of San Francisco on April 17th, 2015.
Investigators located hundreds of videos and images of child pornography located on a laptop and thumb drive that was found to belong to a resident, Kori Nicole Ellis, 41.
During an examination of the media devices, investigators found child pornography involving children as young as one year old engaged in sexual acts with adults.
The SFPD arrested Ellis and she was charged in San Francisco Superior court with possession of child pornography, possession of over 600 files of child pornography, and possession of child pornography involving sado masochism.
During the subsequent investigation, investigators from the FBI and SFPD discovered that Ellis was communicating with several underage minors and coercing them to send sexually explicit images of themselves. The underage minors were located in several different states.
Investigators also discovered that Ellis was communicating with dozens of individuals about child pornography and pedophilia topics through various online chat applications. During these chats Ellis would send and receive child pornography.
Investigators found one chat in particular where it appeared that Ellis was communicating with a married couple in the United Kingdom. During the chats, Ellis would direct the couple to sexually molest their infant child, and from the responses, it appeared that the couple would follow her direction.
Investigators were able to identify the couple and in mid-May 2015, law enforcement in the UK executed a raid of the couple’s residences. Five underage minors were discovered and were placed into protective care. The investigation in the UK is ongoing.
As the investigation continued, investigators were able to identify an individual who lived in Marin County that appeared to have met Ellis in person to view and trade child pornography. The individual was identified as Patrick Harvey, 29, a resident of Novato.
On Friday, August 28, the FBI and several investigators from the SFPD ICAC unit executed a Federal search warrant in the city of Novato. Patrick Harvey was placed into Federal custody, where he is currently held. His case is still under seal in the United States District Court of Northern California.
Kori Nicole Ellis was Federally indicted in United States District Court of Northern California on August 11, 2015 for possession of child pornography, receipt of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, and production of child pornography.
Ellis remains in custody until further investigation.
