SAN JOSE (BCN) — A car turned in front of a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light rail train in San Jose Friday morning, a VTA spokeswoman said.
Around 8:25 a.m., the driver turned in front of a northbound VTA train at North First Street and Matrix Boulevard, near the Metro/Airport station, spokeswoman Brandi Childress said.
The car was damaged, but no injuries were reported, Childress said.
The car was removed from the tracks and the train returned to the yard for inspection, she said. Regular northbound train service resumed after about 20 minutes.
Just after 9 a.m., fire crews responded to the scene but quickly left after no injuries were reported, a fire dispatcher said.
