BART officials reporting major delays in Oakland, station closed

UPDATE: The station has re-opened. Train are stopping at the station, but the No. 2 platform remains out of service. Major delays are still happening on the Fremont Line, between West Oakland and Fremont. Delays are now 10-15 minutes.

Police said the man under the train has died.

OAKLAND (BCN, KRON) — BART officials are reporting a major delay at the 12th Street Oakland City Center station in the Fremont and SFO directions due to a medical emergency.

The station is now officially closed, according to BART spokeswoman Denisse Gonzalez. Reports said there is a person under a train. His or her condition is not known.

Further details were not immediately available.
