PG&E crews responded and secured the leak, fire officials said shortly before 11:45 a.m.
The PG&E crews remained at the scene late this morning to complete repairs to the damaged gas line, according to fire officials.
No injuries were reported.
ALAMEDA (KRON) — A high-pressure natural gas leak was reported Tuesday morning in Alameda near the Target store.
Residents are being advised to avoid the area until further notice, fire officials said.
The Alameda Fire Department reported the leak shortly after 10:20 a.m. in the area of Fifth Street and Mitchell Avenue, near the new shopping area.
No other information about the leak was immediately available.
