Plane catches fire on tarmac of Las Vegas airport, 2 injuries

LAS VEGAS (KRON) —  A British Airways jet bound for London caught fire on the tarmac at McCarren International Airport.

Witnesses saw huge plumes of smoke coming from the Boeing 777. Passengers at the airport took pictures and video of the blaze.

Initial reports said Flight 2276 was ready for take off, with passengers on board when the fire broke out. Everyone was evacuated.

There were two reported injuries as a result of the fire.

Passengers were bused from the plane to a terminal. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

159 passengers were on the plane, along with 13 crew members.
