Six-year-old and grandmother hospitalized after being struck by car in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A 6-year-old child and a grandmother have been hospitalized Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle in San Francisco.

San Francisco Fire Department crews received a call at 7:43 a.m. reporting the incident on 43rd Avenue and Rivera Street in the city’s Outer Parkside neighborhood, a few blocks from St. Ignatius College Preparatory.

The child and grandmother were taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza.

After the collision, the child was bleeding and had road rash injuries, Esparza said.

Police are investigating the collision to see who was at fault, Esparza said.
