SANTA ROSA (KRON) — Firefighters extinguished a house fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in Santa Rosa, fire officials said.
The fire that started around 3:31 p.m. at 3441 Castle Rock Court has displaced six residents.
Crews responded to find heavy smoke coming from the second floor of a home.
Occupants told responding firefighters there was a disabled resident that needed emergency evacuation from the residence.
Crews were able to rescue the woman and she was taken to a neighbor’s home, according to the fire department.
As crews fought the fire, it intensified and spread to trees and vegetation surrounding the home, fire officials said.
Firefighters were eventually able to extinguish the fire within 25 minutes, fire officials said.
The American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the six displaced residents.
Fire investigators said the fire appears to be electrical in nature and its exact cause is currently under investigation.
The damage to the home has been estimated at $75,000.
