SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — On Wednesday’s edition of Rob Black’s Winners and Losers, our financial expert Rob Black and KRON 4’s Mark Danon talk about how Facebook is trying to make more money and how Volkswagen is costing taxpayers millions of dollars.
Facebook is trying to make some money off of their Messenger App by looking into the way consumers communicate to businesses. They are looking into adding a feature for users to message businesses instead of having to call them.
Pandora paid $500 million in artist royalists in the past year. However, Black does not suggest buying the stock because it is expensive and he considers it to be a first generation music service, unlike Spotify. ]
Volkswagen is costing taxpayers $51 million in subsidies. Back in 2009, their diesel cars were promoted as green and energy saving and the government even offered a tax credit for buyers. That now adds up to $51 million in fraud and Black believes it could be the end of the diesel consumer car.
