MARINA (KRON) — Police arrested a man Friday who was wanted in connection with a fight that happened earlier this month in Marina near Monterey.
On Sept. 13, around 9:15 p.m., officers with the Marina Police Department responded to the 3100 block of Del Monte Boulevard on report of a fight, authorities said.
When officers arrived they determined that a known gang member had been attacked by three rival gang members.
Detectives with the Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team were able to identify two of the suspects as Marina residents Mario Loera, 28, and Abraham Alvarez, 24. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for the pair.
Friday at about 1:25 p.m., detectives located and arrested Loera in the 500 block of Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey. Loera was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and gang enhancements, according to authorities.
In addition to the investigation, detectives and officers with Marina and Carmel police served a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Carmel Avenue.
Authorities transported Loera to the Monterey County Jail and set his bail at $100,000.
