Hundreds left without power in San Francisco after PG&E transformer explodes

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Hundreds of San Francisco residents are without power Saturday night after a PG&E transformer exploded in the morning. One person was sent and remains in the hospital and crews are now working on getting the lights back on.

The power is out in Bernal Heights and is expected to be out until midnight.

Scott Rates was live in San Francisco to get the most recent updates on the difficult situation. He has a report and full story in the video located above.

A raccoon came in contact with a power line at Lawton Street and 17th Avenue, he said. The outage is unrelated to an outage earlier today in San Francisco, he said.
