Bicyclist dies after being struck by car in San Jose

SAN JOSE (KRON) —  A bicyclist lost his life on Saturday night after being struck by a car on Saturday night around 9:45 p.m. in the vicinity of Landess and Morrill Avenue.

Investigators determined that the bicyclist was headed north on Morrill Avenue, against traffic, with no lights on the bike. The victim had been struck by a white 2004 Infinity in the southbound lanes, police said.

He was injured, and later pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to police.

The victim has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office, police said, but his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
