SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — We’re catching the tail end of the Oktoberfest Celebration. From schnitzel to bratwurst, we have Yelp Community Manager, Stephanie Yolish here to talk about the Bay Area’s rich German dining scene.
A YELP favorite in the East Bay that goes by the name of Speisekammer is known for their live music and tasty menu. YELPER’S really love the potato pancakes, schnitzel, and family style grilled meat platter with sausages. It’s a total authentic German hall.
One San Francisco favorite located right in the Financial District is called Schroeder’s. This is a really neat place with it’s historic charm and old school feel. This top chef is putting a modern twist on traditional German dining.
Now over to Redwood City in the Peninsula, Gourmet Haus Staudt. YELPERS really love the giant pretzel, pickle plate and the smoked sausages. The beers are phenomenal and extra large. So if you looking to indulge on some good German beer please be sure to have a designated driver because after drinking their beers you will need one.
Over in Fairfax, Gestalt Haus, has an awesome ambiance and everything is only five dollars. This place is a local favorite in Marin. Many bike enthusiast love to make pit stops here so you will see lots of folk in spandex.
