Fire destroys travel trailer, kills two dogs near Rohnert Park

SONOMA COUNTY (KRON) — A fire destroyed a travel trailer and killed two dogs outside Rohnert Park city limits Sunday night, a Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District captain said.

The fire in the 4700 block of Snyder Lane was initially reported at 9:45 p.m. as a vegetation fire, but the first firefighters to arrive found the 21-foot trailer engulfed in flames, Capt. James Deurloo said.

The male resident of the trailer was still unaccounted for Monday morning, Deurloo said. He left with a friend Sunday night after his cellphone broke and had not yet returned, Deurloo said. Two dogs were found dead on the property.

The fire also burned a Ford F-250 pickup and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Deurloo said. The cause is under investigation.
