The victim suffered blunt force trauma to the head, according to police.

San Francisco police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said Monday that a passerby reported the woman’s death around 9:15 a.m. Saturday.

A passerby found Audrey Carey, a resident of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, a city in the province of Quebec, dead near the bison paddock in Golden Gate Park around 9:15 a.m. Saturday.

The death is now being investigated as a homicide, according to police.

The woman was pronounced dead by officers in Golden Gate Park.

Esparza said the victim was in her mid 20s to mid 30s and does not appear to have been a transient.

The homicide remains under investigation and no suspects have been arrested, according to police.
