FBI, police make sex trafficking arrests in Sacramento area

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – California police and federal agents made several arrests and recovered minors during a nationwide law enforcement operation targeting human trafficking.

The Sacramento Bee reports that officers made 90 arrests over multiple days in the region covered by the FBI’s Sacramento field office, including Sacramento, Fairfield and Fresno. It was all part of a national program led by the FBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children called Operation Cross Country IX.

In Sacramento, an FBI task force found two minors and arrested three people believed to be pimps. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department also recovered one minor.

Officers in Fairfield found one child and arrested two suspected pimps.

In Fresno, officers found one minor and arrested two more people believed to be pimps.
