PALO ALTO (BCN) — Palo Alto police are investigating a purse snatching near the downtown transit depot early Wednesday morning.
Police said a man robbed the woman of her purse as she was walking on University Avenue after having gotten off a bus around 3 a.m.
The suspect approached the woman from behind, tore the purse from her and knocked her to the ground before fleeing the area.
The woman, who is in her 50s, suffered a minor injury to her knee that did not require immediate medical attention, police said. She reported the robbery later in the day around 1 p.m., according to police.
