UPDATE MONDAY 12:05 PM: (KRON) — The body found in the Bay on Sunday has been identified as 44-year-old Richard Raedel of Phoenix, according to the SF Medical Examiner’s Officer.
No cause of death is being released at the moment.
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A vessel out in the San Francisco Bay discovered a body that was floating in the bay between Angel Island and Alcatraz Island on Sunday, according to the San Francisco Fire Department Dispatch.
SFFD got the first report of the body around 2:56 p.m., a fire dispatcher said.
The San Francisco Rescue Boat recovered the body at 3:25 p.m., according to dispatch.
The body has not yet been identified.
The investigation is still ongoing as to who the man is and why he was floating in the water.
