MARIN COUNTY (KRON) — Marin County law enforcement personnel conducted two multi-agency operation targeting men who pay for sex last Wednesday, according to police.
One operation in the Canal area of San Rafael, involving undercover officers posing as sex workers, resulted in the apprehension of 11 men who were cited and admonished about their role in the exploitation of women, according to police.
Another operation at a hotel in Novato sought to identify victim’s of human trafficking. That operation resulted in the arrest of five men, although no traffickers were identified, police said.
Police were able to make contact with three women, however, and Community Violence Solutions provided assistance to one of them, according to police.
Before starting the operation, officers watched an educational film on human trafficking screened by members of Soropotimist International of Marin County, police said.
Representatives from Community Violence Solutions, Center for Domestic Peace and the office of Senator Diane Feinstein were also present, according to police.
