Coach K stepping down as Team USA coach after 2016 Olympics

(KRON) — Duke Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski is planning to step down as the Team USA men’s basketball coach after the 2016 Olympics, he told ESPN.

Krzyzewski has been with the men’s basketball team since 2005, winning Gold Medals in 2008 and 2012, and putting together a very impressive 75-1 record during his tenure.

Coach K won his 5th National Title with Duke in April.

The 68-year-old coach is one of the most popular in not only basketball, but sports in general. Krzyzewski has been coaching Duke since 1980. His college coaching record currently stands at 1,018–310.
