FREMONT (KRON) — Another person is the victim in what is being called a growing crime trend in the Fremont community.
The victim had a gold chain stolen right off of his or her neck Monday. Police said it happened in the 34000 block of Paseo Padre Parkway.
Police describe the suspect as a black man in his late teens. The suspect fled in a red, four-door sedan, police said.
And this is not the first time this has happened. Since July, there have been at least four separate gold chain robberies.
In one of the incidents, a man pointed a gun at a family of three, and snatched gold chains off all their necks. So far, there have only been two arrests made and those were back in September.
There is no word if these incidents are related. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
