SAN RAFAEL (KRON) – San Rafael police arrested an intruder suspected of assaulting a woman in bed at her home early this morning, a police lieutenant said.
The San Rafael Police Department received a call at 2:52 a.m. from a woman in the 800 block of A Street reporting that there was a person in her residence that she did not know.
The woman that made the call said that the man was rubbing her roommate’s shoulders while she was in bed, but that she and the victim were able to barricade themselves in a separate room, police said.
When police arrived, they searched the residence and located the suspect on the balcony.
The suspect jumped off the balcony onto the street and fled. Officers tracked him down, arrested him and found he had property from the residence in his pocket, police said.
Raul Lizama, a 33 year old San Rafael resident, was booked into Marin County Jail on the charges of burglary, assault with the intent to commit rape, and for a probation violation.
