Firefighters quickly extinguish house fire in Petaluma

PETALUMA (BCN) — Firefighters extinguished a fire in Petaluma Monday evening that caused an estimated $60,000 worth of damage.

At 7:31 p.m., fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire at a home on Cortez Way, according to fire officials.

Firefighters arrived to find the house’s garage on fire. The fire had also extended into the living space of the single-story home, fire officials said.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire within 10 minutes of arrival.

Two adults who were home at the time were able to safely evacuate the home, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported in the blaze, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
