TAMPA (KRON) — A Florida mother is speaking out after school administrators threatened to file sexual harassment charges against her 9-year-old son.
Administrators said they threatened the action because the boy wrote a note to his crush. The mother, who wishes to stay anonymous, said her son did nothing wrong.
School officials said since the boy wrote more than one note and they were unwanted, that borders on harassment. A licensed psychologist said she does not think this is sexual harassment but does encourage talking to your child about what boundaries are appropriate.
The school said it is standing by the policy of no passing notes in class because it can cause distractions.
