MILPITAS (KRON, BCN) — Milpitas police have arrested a 19-year-old San Francisco man, who is accused of burglarizing cars at the Great Mall in Milpitas over the weekend, according to Sgt. Bryan Hinkley.
Manu Majo Pomele was arrested on suspicion of burglary and possessing a burglary tool, police Sgt. Bryan Hinkley said.
On Saturday around 6:40 p.m., officers received a report of a car burglary at the Great Mall of the Bay Area, Hinkley said.
About 30 minutes later, mall security informed police of a suspicious person looking into cars at the mall, according to Hinkley.
Police officers found a person, later identified as Pomele, who matched the description provided by mall security, Hinkley said. Pomele allegedly had a device used to break car windows and pieces of broken glass were found on him, according to Hinkley.
Another vehicle burglary was reported to police while officers were speaking with Pomele, Hinkley said.
Officers searched the 19-year-old’s car where they found property taken from the two burglaries, the sergeant said.
Pomele was arrested without incident and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose, according to Hinkley.
