SAN JOSE (KRON) — One person was arrested in connection to an Instagram account that was reportedly being used by students at a San Jose high school to share inappropriate images, according to the school district.
An email was sent Monday to the parents of children that attend Lincoln High School alerting them that the school was under investigation and an arrest was made, the school district confirmed.
Lincoln High School alerted the police after the discovery of inappropriate images being shared on the social media app, Instagram.
The principal sent out an email stating that the “administration was made aware of an Instagram account that was soliciting and posting inappropriate pictures of students, including students from Lincoln.”
“At least one individual who hosted the site has been identified and arrested by police,” the email stated.
It is unclear who that person is or if they were a student.
The account has been taken down by Instagram.
Sharing and possessing inappropriate images of underage children is a felony crime offensive, the principal warned in the email.
The school also advised parents to talk with their children about their online interactions.
