PARIS (KRON) – The Paris prosecutor says that the suspected mastermind of the Paris attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was killed in a police raid.
In a statement Thursday, the prosecutor’s office said that Abaaoud’s body was found in an apartment building targeted in the raid in Saint-Denis north of Paris Wednesday.
French investigators were able to determine Abaaoud’s idenity based on skin samples.
The raid was part of a major police operation in a suburb of the city of Paris.
Another key suspect linked to Friday’s atrocities by ISIS attackers in the French capital is still at large.
Belgian authorities are conducting fresh raids around Brussels.
ISIS, meanwhile, is continuing to fuel alarm and outrage around the globe, announcing the killings of hostages from China and Norway and claiming it plans to attack New York City.
