Hometown woman, Oakland man win Berkeley Half Marathon

BERKELEY (BCN) — A hometown woman and an Oakland man won the women’s and men’s divisions of the Berkeley Half Marathon today, race officials said.

Berkeley resident Anna Bretan won with a time of 1 hour, 18 minutes, 34 seconds, according to race officials.

Bretan has won the race each year since the race began and she’s also won The San Francisco Marathon each year for the past three years, race officials said.

Oakland resident and University of California at Berkeley student Sam Robinson won with a time of 1:12:22, race officials said.

More than 7,000 runners ran in today’s 3rd annual event that raises money for youth in Berkeley through the Berkeley Public Schools Fund, according to race officials.
