On-ramp to Hwy 680 in Fremont reopened following to overturned big rig

UPDATE 6:05 AM – The on-ramp to northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Fremont has been reopened.


FREMONT (BCN, KRON) — A Sig-alert is expected to remain in place until 8 p.m. this evening after big-rig hauling woodchips overturned on an on-ramp to northbound Interstate Highway 680 in Fremont early this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Around 12:55 p.m. a big-rig was reported on its side at the bottom of the Mission Boulevard on-ramp to northbound Highway 680.

A Sig-Alert was issued around 1:55 p.m., according to the CHP. The truck is back on its wheels, but the on-ramp is expected to remain closed until 8 p.m. this evening.

At least one person suffered minor injuries in the crash, but further details were not immediately available.
