Video: Law enforcement prepare for Super Bowl 50 security with bomb-sniffing dogs

SANTA CLARA (KRON) — Bay Area law enforcement trained at Levi’s Stadium Wednesday in preparation for Super Bowl 50 at Levi’s Stadium.

The big game is only two months away on Feb. 7. A special team of bomb-sniffing dogs were making sure they are ready to spring into action.

First up in the operation at the U.S. Coast Guard San Francisco station was checking out helicopters while they were on the ground. The dogs and their trainers practiced leaping into the helicopters to help get them accustomed to the unique environment.

Agents from San Jose, UC Berkely, Alameda County Sheriff’s Department, CHP, and others participated. After everyone got a feel for the helicopters, it was on to the real test.

Those who particpated said by the end of the exercise, they had learned a lot.

Another part of the drill included having the dogs inspect luggage and bags for possible bombs.
