Driver of Napa school bus arrested for suspected DUI, gets stuck on road

NAPA (KRON) — The driver of a Napa school bus loaded with students was arrested for suspected DUI Friday, according to CHP Napa public information officer Marc Renspurger.

Police said the driver, Jaquida Parker, was attempting to make a U-turn when the bus got stuck on a dirt driveway. This happened on Old Sonoma Road near Dealy Lane at around 4 p.m.

The 28 children on board were being transported from Harvest Middle School to Browns Valley Elementary.

Investigating officers reportedly smelled alcohol on the drivers’ breath. Parker was then arrested and booked into the Napa County Jail.

No injuries were reported and a replacement bus picked up the children.
