Fairfield police identify man found fatally shot in home during welfare check

FAIRFIELD (KRON) — A Fairfield man found shot and killed in his home during a welfare check Thursday night has been identified, according to police.

Police said 68-year-old William Freeman was found with a gunshot wound at his home in the 800 block of Sunset Court. Police pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Fairfield Police Department’s major crimes unit said the case is under investigation, and further details were not immediately available.
