HAYWARD (BCN, KRON) — A Hayward high school student has been arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of threatening on social media to commit violence at a school in the area, according to police.
Officers became aware of the threat at about 9 p.m. on Monday, which did not target any specific individuals, police said.
Investigators quickly identified a 15-year-old Mt. Eden High School student as the person who posted the threats and arrested him at about 6 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
He admitted to making the threat on social media, police said. There was no indication that he had actually planned any violence or had any weapons, according to police.
The student was booked into juvenile hall. Police are not releasing his name because of his age.
